Full Facial Balancingin Charlottesville, VA
Three to four syringes used across the face to harmonize proportions rather than treat one area.
- Price
- $2,100
- Downtime
- Minimal
- Sessions
- Single visit
Treating one area at a time can make the rest of the face look less balanced rather than more. Facial balancing takes the opposite approach: three to four syringes placed across the face in one session, chosen so the proportions work together.
It costs more than a single area because it is more product, and it usually achieves what several separate appointments would not.
What it helps with
- Volume lost across the midface rather than in one spot
- Proportions that have shifted with time
- A jawline and chin that no longer balance the upper face
- Several areas you have been treating one at a time
Who it's for
- Anyone who has had filler in one area and felt the result looked incomplete
- Patients who would rather do it properly once than piece it together
- Anyone wanting structure addressed rather than lines chased
This is a bigger treatment than most people need. If one area is genuinely the issue, Jyl will treat that area and charge you less. She will tell you if balancing is more than your face requires.
What to expect
Consultation
A full assessment of proportion and structure, not a list of complaints. This consultation is longer than most.
The appointment
Numbing, then placement across the planned areas. Plan on an hour and a half.
The first week
More swelling than a single area simply because more was done. Bruising is possible.
Settling
Two weeks to settle, and a review after that.
Before your visit
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment.
- Stop fish oil, vitamin E, ibuprofen and other blood thinners for three days beforehand if your doctor says it is safe to pause them.
- Come with clean skin.
- Let Jyl know if you have a dental appointment or any vaccination booked within two weeks either side.
After your treatment
Today
- Stay upright for the next four hours.
- Do not rub, massage or press on the treated areas today.
- Skip exercise, hot yoga, saunas and anything that raises your heart rate until tomorrow.
- Use a cool compress gently if you are swollen, never ice directly on the skin.
- Swelling and bruising in the first days are normal and expected.
- Call the practice straight away if you have severe or increasing pain, skin that looks white or mottled, or any change in your vision.
Tomorrow
- Swelling is usually at its worst today or tomorrow.
- Sleep with your head elevated on an extra pillow tonight.
- You can return to normal activity and light exercise.
- Keep avoiding saunas, steam rooms and sunbeds for another few days.
- Do not judge the result yet.
- What you are looking at today is swelling, not filler.
In three days
- Swelling should be noticeably settling by now and any bruising should be fading.
- Makeup over the area is fine.
- If one side looks different from the other, that is common at this stage and usually evens out.
- Call the practice if swelling is increasing rather than decreasing, if an area is hot or painful to touch, or if you have a lump that is firm and growing.
After two weeks
- Your filler has now fully settled, so this is the first fair look at the result.
- If anything needs adjusting, now is the right time to look at it together rather than months from now.
- Reply to this email or call the practice and we will find you a time.

How Jyl approaches this
Jyl plans this as one piece of work rather than four separate decisions, and that planning is most of the value. She will reduce the scope if she thinks the full treatment is more than you need.
More about JylQuestions
What does $2,100 include?
NEEDS APPROVAL: confirm exactly what the price covers, how many syringes, and what happens if more is needed.
How long does it last?
NEEDS APPROVAL: confirm the range Jyl quotes.
Can it be done in stages?
It can, but the point of doing it in one session is that the areas are planned against each other. Staged over months, you are making each decision without seeing the whole.
How much time should I leave before an event?
Four weeks. This involves more product and more swelling than a single area.
